BetMGM Free Bets for Premier League Saturday on August 22nd
The first Saturday of the Premier League season is upon us, with half of the weekend’s games taking place on the 22nd of August. Your BetMGM free bets also await, so it’s a good time to look at the matches.
Possibly the most eye-catching showdown brings Manchester United to Hull to face the longest of outsiders; but the later games could contain their share of intrigue, with Keith Andrews looking to build on an impressive first season as Brentford manager as Tottenham visit the Gtech Community Stadium. Meanwhile, Ipswich are the third of the newly promoted sides to get underway.

What are the day’s big talking points?
Manchester United need to be winning games like their visit to Hull if they are to improve upon or even match last season’s third place, and are strongly favoured to do so at the top UK betting sites. Brentford, who narrowly missed out on the European spots in the 2025/26 table, start out at home against Spurs, who equally narrowly escaped relegation and are hoping for a much better campaign this time around.
Sunderland will still be reeling from managing a surprising 7th spot and Europa League football, and a visit to newly-promoted Ipswich will see how ready they are to build on that. Everton vs Crystal Palace brings together two sides that have a gravitational attraction to the middle of the table and their game feels contractually obliged to be a draw, while Nottingham Forest need a fast start to avoid a repeat of last season’s vaudevillian four-manager circus. They host Leeds, who could make life hard for them.
BetMGM UK free bets for Premier League Saturday
There’s a lot of interesting betting ahead for today’s games, with only one of the five matches having a clear favourite at BetMGM UK (It’s Manchester United, BTW). If we’re talking about value, we’d have to say that the draw between Everton and Crystal Palace looks tempting, although Palace under new boss Pierre Sage may not be as solid as they were last season with Oli Glasner. Barring Hull, there is a case to be made for any of the sides involved winning this weekend, which means Hull will probably win.
Regardless of our expectations, there is the chance to back your own with £40 worth of free bets thanks to the BetMGM sign-up offer, which is one of the top UK betting promotions and can be taken when you sign up and make a qualifying bet at odds of 2.00 or longer. If you want to have those free bets in time for the 3 pm games, then you might make an early bet on the lunchtime game. Just don’t back Manchester United, who are 1.36 to win – perhaps take a goalscorer bet on Benjamin Sesko or Bryan Mbeumo instead. No BetMGM promo code is needed to release the bets, so just make the initial bet and then wait for it to resolve.

BetMGM has been in operation Stateside for some years now, but is a newer proposition in the UK, having landed on our shores in 2023. This doesn’t make it an America-centric bookmaker – its odds and markets are more than comparable with the average UK sportsbook. If you’re looking to make bets on the Premier League’s first weekend, or any matches going forward, you’ll find plentiful opportunities to do so, and there’s a lot more besides that, with rugby, cricket, tennis and plenty of niche sports covered.
