INCLUSION POLICY
Our Commitment
At SailGP, we are committed to ensuring there are no barriers for people thriving, feeling included and having their voices heard. Whilst striving to be the world’s most sustainable and purpose-driven global sports and entertainment platform, we recognize that workforce diversity, treating everybody fairly, and promoting a culture of inclusion are vital to success both on and off the water.
This Inclusion Policy (the “Policy”), along with the SailGP Inclusion Strategy, sets out the ethos and principles by which we operate to create a diverse, equal and inclusive environment within SailGP, and accelerate change across the sport of sailing.
Our SailGP values of Deliver Quality, Break Boundaries, Make an Impact, Stand Together and Strike a Balance unite our organization and define how we behave and interact with each other, and they guide how we make decisions.
Policy Scope
This Policy is applicable—but not limited—to SailGP practices and policies on recruitment and selection; compensation and benefits; learning and development; promotions; transfers; terminations; disciplinary and dismissal processes; operations and interactions at SailGP offices, event sites and any other official events at which SailGP are involved or work is being carried out.
The Policy applies to all SailGP employees, contractors, interns, apprentices, work experience assignments, volunteers and all competing teams in line with the Participation Agreement (all of whom are referred to as the “SailGP Workforce” in this document) and anyone conducting work on behalf of SailGP. All of these groups have a personal responsibility to be aware of the content of this Policy and to abide by it at all times.
Within this Policy there is reference to external stakeholders such as partners, sponsors, suppliers, fans and followers, people who use SailGP services, facilities and/or attend SailGP events. We welcome alignment and support from all external stakeholders to uphold this policy in line with the SailGP values.
Together, the SailGP Workforce and all other groups above are referred to as the “SailGP Family” in this document.
Inclusion
We support all members of the SailGP Family to feel included across all areas of the workplace, regardless of who they are, what they do for the business, their background and/or circumstance. We promote a culture where our SailGP Family stand together, treating all who we come into contact with equally, fairly and courteously.
Diversity
We respect and understand that every member of the SailGP Family is different. Diversity is the spectrum of difference represented within our organization, and we strongly believe that the SailGP Workforce ought to reflect the diversity of the communities in which we operate.
We appreciate that each individual possesses different levels of education and experience. We know there are differences in gender, religion, race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, caregiver status, health conditions, disability status and many other attributes.
Regardless of differences, everybody is welcome, everybody is valued and we do not permit discrimination against any member of the SailGP Family, based on their diversity.
Equity
We appreciate that every individual needs different things in order to thrive and we intend to ensure that everyone is supported to reach their full potential. At SailGP, we strive to level the playing field and ensure all individuals have access to the support, information, resources, and opportunities they need to perform their role and to progress.

This makes DEI everyone’s responsibility.

We also have employee resource networks that provide opportunity for support, connection and knowledge sharing:
- Women of SailGP - In an industry known to be male-dominated and understanding the amazing support and connection that communities provide, we aim to provide a supportive network for the Women of SailGP community. Examples of involvement that we have run to date include fireside chats with members of staff, dedicated slack channel, online networking and meet-ups at events.
- SailGP Pride - A community for allies and members of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, and those who would like to learn more about, or show support for, diversity and this community.
Zero tolerance of discrimination, harassment and bullying
We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment or bullying. As such we will not accept any form of these across SailGP; from any member of SailGP Workforce, anyone conducting work on behalf of SailGP, or from the wider SailGP Family.
We are a family who support each other and respect each other’s beliefs. We aim to create an environment which values individuals equally, and where people can be free to be themselves.
We are committed to challenging discrimination in all its forms and will support everybody in the SailGP Family in demonstrating this commitment in their everyday activities.
We would encourage anyone who feels they have been subject to discrimination, harassment or bullying to raise their concerns without any fear so that we can act to eradicate such behavior.
Reporting inappropriate conduct
We are committed to developing a culture where all individuals are encouraged to raise any concerns about unacceptable practice and misconduct. It is the duty of everyone to speak up about genuine concerns. We take any form of misconduct seriously and have created a Speak Up Policy to enable SailGP Workforce to raise concerns early and in the right way.
For individuals from any stakeholder group not mentioned above, concerns can be raised to any member of SailGP staff and/or a member of the People Team at people@sailgp.com.
Any individual found to breach this Policy, will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action.
